VISIT OF SCOTTISH CUP FINALISTS

Personalities in Third Lanark Side

LEEDS ATTRACTION

When manager Tom Jennings arrived in Leeds last night from Glasgow with his team, Third Lanark, he made known a change in the previously published eleven to play Leeds United in a friendly fixture at Elland Road to-night. Owing to injury, Kennedy cannot play and Gallacher will cross over to inside left. The alteration, however, means that the Leeds public will have the opportunity of seeing at inside right Mason, a 17-year-old player, whose ball control and general ability have caused him to be hailed in Scottish League circles as the "find" of the season. At centre-forward will be another of Mr. Jennings's "discoveries" in Morrison, who is only 18 years old; while another newcomer is Harvie, the left-back. Otherwise, the remaining eight players were in the side which extended Glasgow Rangers in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park last April. Third Lanark will line up as follows: Muir; Carabine, Harvie; Blair, Denmark, McInnes; Hay, Mason, Morrison, Gallacher, Howe. Carabine and Denmark are regarded as strong candidates for international honours this season, and since the Scottish Cup final have been the medium of inquiries by English club managers.

Sproston Returns

It will be welcome news to Leeds United followers that Sproston, who pulled a thigh muscle in the first match of the season against Chelsea, is fit to return at right back; Thomson, a Scot who has been showing good form with the Central League team, is at inside-right; and Stephenson will have Cochrane as his partner on the left. The United eleven is: McInroy; Sproston, Milburn (J.); Edwards, Kane, Browne; Armes, Thomson, Kelly, Stephenson, Cochrane. Mr. W. Hampson, the Leeds United manager, welcomed the Scottish party on their arrival last night.
